Third Grade Boys 2018

INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2018 SEASON!
Welcome to the AHYBA Program.  We would like to give you some information on the 3rd Grade Boys program to answer some commonly asked questions.
We have separate programs for 3rd grade boys & 3rd grade girls.  This encourages participation by as many girls & boys as possible, and allows us to optimize our facilities usage by splitting the program into two separate sessions.
The 3rd Grade Boys program will run from approximately October 27 to December 22, 2018  Registration for this program will be limited to 180 players, with preference give to Arlington Heights residents.  The boys enrolled in this program will receive a call from their coach sometime in mid-October.
Teams in the 3rd Grade Boys program will be formed on a geographical basis, with consideration to competitive balance.  After the 3rd Grade program, all other grade levels set up their teams based on competitive balance rather than geographic proximity.  The 3rd Grade program stresses the development of fundamental skills and basic knowledge of the game. The program is conducted in a low key, non-competitive environment.
After about 3 weeks of practice, the 3rd grade teams will play a 10 game schedule against other 3rd grade teams, with referees provided by the AHYBA.

Fifth Grade Boys Travel Tryout Registration 2018

Evaluations for 5th grade boys travel basketball are at Prospect High School

Travel Program Philosophy
To provide an opportunity for kids to participate in an advanced program of basketball with primary emphasis on skill development, team play, sportsmanship and community representation.

Playing Time
Unlike most travel teams, our coaches are all instructed to strive to try and equalize playing time among all of the participants. We have implemented a “general” guideline that all players should play no less than 1/3 of any game, unless physical or disciplinary issues apply.

Eligibility

You must be a current participant in AHYBA  Players must only participate with their respective grade (NO PLAYING UP).

Players selected to participate will not be allowed to participate in any other travel level basketball programs during this season (this includes feeder programs). This policy has been established recognizing that participation in this program requires a significant time commitment from the players and their families, and participation in another program, at the same time, would, most likely, be detrimental to both programs. We do understand that some of the participants may be involved with other sporting activities during our season (ie., travel soccer). We will not attempt to restrict involvement in those activities but would expect that priority be given to basketball during the basketball season. Players who tryout for other basketball programs, after being selected to participate in our program, will be removed from their respective teams unless the tryout is approved by one of the travel directors.
